kt 17 air cleaner cover

The air cleaner cover on my kt17 series 2 has a tube that can be turned so that the tube will line up with a vent hole in the muffler heat shield for cold weather operation. My question is can I use the cover from my old series 1 motor that doesn't have this tube? Would it harm the engine or effect it's operation? Thank you, Ryan

No problem, that option was for extremely cold weather. I have 3 tractors that have the KT engines and none have the cold weather air cleaner.

The tractor that I have been using for snowblowing the last 2 years has the snorkel that is getting air straight from the cooling fan, so it has absolutely no preheating, and no problems even at way below 0.
