theniteowl 29 Posted April 14, 2016 Anyone swap a horizontal shaft 16HP Kohler with a 16HP Briggs? My first engine cracked the clock when the connecting rod broke and the spare I found is really worn and giving me trouble. I know the Kohler is supposed to be the stronger of the two engines but I can get a running Briggs cheap. Any major issues for the swap? Wiring is not a problem, just need to know if there are any difficult fabrications needed.

MikeES 469 Posted April 16, 2016 drive shaft coupling is different. Wiring - Kohler is battery ignition, Briggs is magneto.
