clutch/brake issue

Recommended Posts

drjohn

hi folks-

I'm a newbe, so please be patient. I have an early 80's 7112 simplicity landlord with a 42 inch deck. As I came to a stop in my shed today, I left my foot off the brake/clutch pedal without placing the gear selector in neutral. The mower took off and travelled about a foot until hit the trailer parked in front of it.

Now the brake/clutch pedal does not operate. Any ideas as to what I did to the big guy, and have I seriously damaged it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Just a guess. Did the tranny drive belt (BGB pulley to tranny input pulley) hop off the idler pulley and jam the linkage.

Take the belt off (or off the BGB or tranny drive pulley) and check the linkage(s) to find the problem. Some of the tractors also had a clutch return spring that might have came off or broke. It's located at the clutch pedal, inside the frame on my B-110.
