Model 19 magna-matic vs model 23d

Recommended Posts

I installed a 23 in a B-1. Had to revamp the starter/generator bracket and the air filter tube to prevent cutting the hood tin. Depending on the location of the oil fill (in the block or in the oil pan) you may have to trim out the hole in the frame. It's easier to cut the tin, as Sam stated, but I hate to do that to my own equipment. I did cut the tin on one I installed for a customer. I can't remember if I had to drill new mounting holes. I do know that the model 19 had spacers under the engine and that I did not need them on the 23. Pat

What engine with more cubes and horsepower fits the B-1 without having to "trim tin"??? Thanks, Roy

Are the dimensions the same for a model 23d and a model 19 magna-matic. I am thinking of selling/swaping my model 19 magna-matic for a model 23d. Has anyone tried this swap before? What is the going rate for a model 23d? Thanks John H

The 23 block is slightly larger requiring one to trim some of your tin work and drill holes to make it fit.
