MDB 134 Posted May 15, 2016 Some people here know the history behind this tractor, some do not.Sam Ericson AKA SmilinSam built this tractor some time around 2003 or 4http://www.simpletractors.com/do_it/variable_to_hydro2.htmHe then sold it to Maynard Greenwood AKA UCD who owned and showed the tractor for a number of years until he passed away. I was able to buy the tractor from His Wife Ann when she decided to sell Maynards collection.Dan Lonnen AKA Rokon2813 was instrumental in helping Ann sell Maynards tractors and he delivered the HB116 to me in the fall of 2012, I think...Also in the deal was a super clean original 48" mower deck for a B212. So this all has been sitting around long enough.. The belt is a Simplicity 163011 71.6" Everything came together pretty good and so far seems to work well. SmilinSam 4,031 Posted May 15, 2016 CooldOd I dont think I ever mowed with it. Blew snow, ran the tiller and grader on it though, and pulled the wagon around. I remember when they came out and got it. Maynard got the tractor, and Rob ? got the cab. I think Kent got the loader tractor on that trip, but cant remember for sure. gwiseman 1,679 Posted May 17, 2016 Wasn't here when Sam did it. After joining the club I saw the HB116 in UCD's posts & read Sam's thread several times thinking what a great project. I enjoy reading the archived refurb & development threads and watching the engineering skills play out. I make too many errors so searching and reading is a must. My favorite is seeing a collector/member show them off - keeping the hobby alive another day. Just plain cool Michael (Sam & Kent too)
Tacey 0 Posted May 17, 2016 I also remember reading this post. I have always marveled at the craftsmanship on display in these threads. I've never been one to attempt any of these projects but I've enjoyed them just the same.
