4211 Deck Compaitbility

Recommended Posts

rich_kildow

I'm hunting for a replacement deck for my Dad's 4211, but unfortunately (and sorry I couldn't make it work with a few forum members) he's reluctant to have one shipped and would rather find a complete mower locally, but mainly just for the deck.

What decks are compatible with the 4211? I assume anything in the 42xx series, but what about the 52xx/62xx, and do any of those cross to Allis or Deutz-Allis branded tractors? I know the 71xx/9xx series fairly well, but I'm still learning with these little guys.

Everything is the same for the 36" decks, but the taller tractors (5 & 6000) have a pulley spacer that lowers the PTO pulley so a 36" deck can be used. The deck engagement rod is also different between the 4xxx and the larger ones. the difference is the 5xxx and 6xxx's have longer axle spindles, which raises the front.

I put a 42" deck under a 4212, but I didnt try mowing with it. You may run into problems unless you put the longer spindles on the front since the larger decks are designed for the taller tractors.

Hope you can find a deck locally! 4212's usually are common on Craigslist.

I like the 4212's and never had any problems with them, but as you will see some people think otherwise8C
