TFF 13 Posted May 31, 2016 I had a lip seal go on my 9020 transmission. While I had it out of the tractor, I checked the two relief valves. The implement relief valve has a spring (#6 in the picture attached) that has very little "spring" to it. It's almost solid. I was going to replace it with a similar spring as the charge relief valve, but then thought that maybe this is the way it's supposed to be? Maybe the relief spring was too stiff and it blew out my lip seal? Any thought would be appreciated.
Rigger9020 13 Posted June 1, 2016 Those two springs are not interchangeable. Also the little spacers that fit between cap and spring should not be changed at all. Those are set up at factory to specified pressure ratings. The charge pressure shouldn't take much to prime pump. Your implement pressure would require considerably much more to lift implements. Not sure which seal you are talking about that blew out? Hope that helps Mike
TFF 13 Posted June 1, 2016 Thanks, Mike. I'll keep the original spring in there. The spacers you mention...I didn't notice them. Could they have fallen out or are they pretty secure?
