Delerion02 0 Posted June 10, 2016 I did something stupid... I took apart my big ten engine, 243431 10hp. At the time the piston rod looked symmetrical, so I didn't take a picture. Now, putting it back together, I donno which way the rod faces. Anyone know?

powerking_one 0 Posted June 11, 2016 There should be a "flat" top ground into the con-rod so as to clear the camshaft. Also the Briggs manual states the rod and cap match marks should face the flywheel end of engine. I don't think the 240000 series of engines had an "F" mark on the piston which also should face the flywheel. Tom (PK)
