Simplicity 1691717 diode ?

My friend has a Simplicity 7117 model 1691717 that had a problem and he has narrowed it down to the diode in the seat switch - relay circuitry being defective. Does anyone know the part number of the diode that is required so he can buy a new one? I looked online at the parts manual and the diode is shown in diagram but not in parts list that tells numbers. Do you think that part no. 1677484sm is the correct one? Thanks in advance. Gary

I was not aware of a diode in the seat switch on a Simplicity. I see what you are talking about in the electrical parts breakdown, near the starter solenoid, and one is shown in the harness in the wiring diagram. It is not in the switch itself. I really didn't remember one being used on a Simplicity. You may need to have your local dealer call Simplicity and see what they know. Tim
