Anyone have Simplicity 4040 with original Onan?

Recommended Posts

I am looking for anyone who has a 4040 tractor that still has the original Onan engine installed. I have a few questions in regards to the carburetor and throttle linking. I have the CCKA and the power max manuals but they do not show what I am looking for.

I am not familiar with the Allis tractors. I am looking to see some pictures of the carb. and linkage to the throttle cable. Do the Allis tractors have the same engine and carbs on them?

Isetta, I was looking to see how the throttle cable attaches to the carb or governor arm. I would like to also see a picture of how the choke cable attaches, and as crazy as this sounds, how the cam / arm or connecting point of the choke cable is pointing (up, down, forward) in regards to the butterfly position. I have been wondering lately if the carb that is on this tractor is the correct one or not. There is what looks to be a bullet hole in the upper heat shield assembly at which if that is what it is, would put the projectile right into the carb.
