rich_kildow 269 Posted July 10, 2016 I've been going through a bunch of deck parts I savaged and have 2 questionably lower housings: They both have good bearing bores as I had to press them out and they put up some resistance. The top one appears to have a bit of the hole wallowed out but I don't know that it would affect the performance of it. The bottom one has some scoring on the outside, I'm not entirely sure from what. The out race is still stuck in that one and I may have to score the race to get it out, but that's no problem. Should I blast them and repaint or are they shot?
rokon2813 272 Posted July 10, 2016 I wouldn't try to sell them, but for your own use, if you think they will hold a bearing then keep them.
Chris727 2,022 Posted July 10, 2016 FWIW, These housings are like $20 each new.

MrSteele 492 Posted July 11, 2016 I have a worse looking on a Yazoo I rebuilt a long time ago, 10 years or so. I would hang on to them for a just in case.. Must be one of the reasons my shop is getting harder and harder to walk through?
rich_kildow 269 Posted July 11, 2016 They're in the recycling! I have 3 other complete sets I'll blast down and repaint to have on the shelf but you guys are right, for the cost of replacements they aren't worth trying to salvage.
