Ultima power steering into large frame

Recommended Posts

I might have a shot at a parts DA Ultima in the near future. This is a parts tractor but the entire steering setup, axles, and rear end are there. At one point I had found a complete walkthrough on a Sunstar power steering swap but for the life of me I can't find it again. Would this serve as a good donor to put power steering in a large frame (my 7122) and if so, what gets used and what needs to be purchased/found beyond the donor machine?

Rotary Valve, Cylinder, Steering wheel, Choke cable, & maybe a hose or two can be transferred over.

Burntime & I think RayS make some of the NLA components. I believe the dash plate is NLA but the OEM should be able to me modified to work.

There is a parts diagram of the kit floating around out there that may resurface here at some point.

It will give you part numbers of everything needed including hardware.

I did the same thing you are doing to my dad's '93 Sovereign about 7 years ago. He got the installation instructions & parts list by calling Simplicity.

By the way. I called your dad & told him congrats on the new 7116 score.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
