skot71 0 Posted July 27, 2016 My son bought his first house, which was my Grandparents house, and we lived in for 10 years after my Grandmother died. I had a Snapper rear engine when I lived there. When we moved to my current place, I bought the Allis B-208 and that started my tractor addiction. So I looked on Craigslist to see if I could find Adam, my son, a tractor for his yard. Found an Allis 1036 for $100 that the guy said had been sitting for a few years that used to belong to his grandfather. Picked it up last night with assistance from my friend ZippoVarga. Took it to Zippo's barn to see if we could get it going. Carb was real varnished from the old gas. Zippo had one, so with a bunch of effort getting heat shields out of the way, we replaced the carb. It fired right up and ran real good. The pictures show it as found, I haven't done any cleaning on it yet. It's in real good shape, you can tell it's been taken care of. It'll be perfect for Adam's yard. Anyone have one of these?

steve-wis 637 Posted July 28, 2016 I had the simplicity model of this machine, a Cavalier. Mine was an 8 h.p. and the 30 inch deck. It was a handy machine to mow with, I think you will like it. I have heard that the transmission might be a weak link, but I had no trouble with mine. Steve

I was driving it and the transmission completly locked up. One of the bronze bushings inside wore and caused the gears to shift and bind. End of that custom. He fixed the tranny but took off the smaller pulleys.lol
