Recommended Posts

Gcabinet1

Hi guys

Got the engine running pretty well now.

Working on charging system and some miscellaneous

things .i have a bad rectifier and regulator, hope that's it on the charging system.

When I put the clutch in I get a fair amount of noise,

kind of a chirping noise.bad belts? Or are they noisy

by nature?

Thanks again for all the help

Gary

When you say put the clutch in do you mean letting the pedal up and engaging the drive? I have had worn bearings in the jackshaft that made a similar noise in that situation.

Gary,

With the pedal released, I recently had a tractor that I was sure had bad bearings in the clutch jackshaft. It turned out to be the belts.

BTW I use gates 6824 kevlar belts, NAPA 4L240W is the same belt.

They are green.

Biedlers belts on line is the least expensive place to buy them.
