To All,
The spark plug threads in my cylinder head are stripped.
A local machine shop put a steel insert in, instead of
a Heli-Coil, and now the insert threads are stripped.
I may need a cylinder head if I cannot get this one
fixed.
Anyone have a head available at a reasonable price?
Thanks,
Roy

To All,

A friend of mine, who runs a welding and machine shop
and is a wizard at welding and other
mechanical tricks, welded the spark plug hole shut, then
drilled and tapped it. Cost was a phenomenal no charge!
I owe him at least one or two for solving my problem.
My cylinder head is fixed.

That's all,

I didn't see your post in time, but I repaired an aluminun cylinder head for a motorcycle the same way. Works great and is stronger than the original aluminum that was threaded intially.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
