joelw23 0 Posted October 3, 2016 this part is on backorder everywhere. I ordered it 2 months ago and it still hasn't shipped.... Found one in stock online and the packaging was so bad it was lost during shipment and all I got was an empty box. Anyone have a source for this part? Or an alternative part or something I could fabricate? It's a fiber type material washer that goes on the axle tube and rests against the needle bearing. Chris727 2,016 Posted October 3, 2016 Sandy Lake Implement or Wells Implement are possible sources. Otherwise you might try calling old dealers until you locate one. www.sandylakeimp.com www.wellsimplement.com
theniteowl 29 Posted October 5, 2016 I have had good luck with partsstockpile. Just tried to check the part on their site and it appears to be down at the moment. I wonder if the part is the same material as is used for the driveshaft connections. It would be nice to find a source for the material we could cut new ones from. Is that part accessible from outside of the transmission? I have a variable drive transmission from a 3310V that may have a compatible part. Transmission had a blown axle shaft. Chris727 2,016 Posted October 6, 2016 That is not the correct part number. That is an error in the electronic parts catalog. Even the original paper parts catalog has an erroneous part number listed for that item. That is some sort of an arm used on a Zero Turn, probably made of 7 gauge steel, hence the 7GA and ZT in the part description. Are you sure its supposed to be fiber? I've never seen any non-metallic parts inside those transmissions. Is it number #63 that you are looking for? If so, I looked on my corrected set of microfiche from the '90s and it lists it as #172977. That number then superseded to #154097 which is the washer used in reference number #64. The newest number is 2154097SM but its listed as no longer available. It is described as a "grooved washer." Allis Chalmers had their own part numbering system for most of the lawn and garden numbers. That part may also be found under the Deutz-Allis AGCO number of 72025822, also NLA. MrSteele 492 Posted October 7, 2016 I would check with Sandy Lake, Brenda knows the tractors, as she is also a collector. I was in my transmission a couple of years ago, did a complete rebuild, but do not remember a fiber washer of any kind. I do not think the designers would have put a fiber material anywhere inside a housing. If you are referring to #63, shown on the drawing, it is likely a double thickness spacer. You certainly would not want a seal of any kind at that location, on the other side of the needle bearing, maybe.
joelw23 0 Posted October 11, 2016 Didn't find the exact washer, but one from a newer model that was steel instead of the fiber material with the same dimensions.Everything installed and put back together. It's moving again! FYI, there are more than just this one fiber washer/spacer in the trans.
