811 GT II Engine Pulley

Recommended Posts

ironbriggs1

I recently acquired an Allis 811 GT II with a seized up engine.  After a lot of pressure washing and dropping in a different 11hp Briggs, it is a pretty nice little tractor.  It also came with the 42'' deck, however the drive pulley for it on the engine is in poor shape.  The pulley cracked in half and somebody did their best to weld it back together, but it didn't turn out too well.

I am thinking of buying a pulley from Fleet Farm that is meant to be welded on a hub and attempt to remove the original pulley and weld it in its place.  Has anyone attempted this before with success?

Otherwise, does anyone know where a suitable replacement can be purchased from? (At a reasonable price)

Most of you are probably aware that the replacement pulley 1674163SM is long since NLA.

Thanks,

Rusty

Sorry, it is a double pulley assembly that slides over the crankshaft. The original pulleys are welded to the sleeve. Getting that weld cut off without destroying the sleeve would be the hardest part. (This picture is just an example)

I have seen similar on other riders / tractors.  Do you have dimensions?  That might help to see if someone has something that might work for you.  As I recall they have a long bolt and washer setup too.

If you can get all the dimensions, I seem to remember that Bear had a small bunch of double pulleys.  He might have one and if he did I am sure he would sell you one.

I will remove it when I get a chance and measure it up.  The part number that I looked up is 1665272, which then superseded to 1674163SM before going NLA.

From what I can tell the 4000 series lawn tractors used the same double pulley, so a decent used one shouldn't be too hard to find.

Thanks
