bigdog46 2 Posted October 12, 2016 On one of my 48" decks on a Simplicity 7117, the long straight part of the belt between the 2 outer deck spindles oscillates and makes a fluttering noise. Just wondering if someone else has had this issue and what they did to eliminate it. Thanks. Gary.
Mike_H 92 Posted October 12, 2016 Mine does it too, and I noticed on the deck covers there are a couple of brackets that look to support the belt and prevent fluttering. I think the "real" way to fix it would be to increase the belt tension.
yukon 331 Posted October 12, 2016 i noticed mine doing it yesterday pulled the deck off and the belt found some of the belt was missing put another belt on and it was fine.
MikeES 458 Posted October 12, 2016 It can be caused by one or more of the pulleys not exactly round (and this could be in the spread of the flanges) and or a belt that is not exactly the same cross section all the way around.
BLT 718 Posted October 12, 2016 Also a belt problem is caused by the tensionser is not moving freely. That will eat belts faster then anything else..
