tripleguy 74 Posted October 31, 2016 Been thinking of getting a new (to me) mower this spring - maybe a Conquest or Prestige series. I'm wondering if anyone knows the Craftsman equivalent models that are essentially re-badged Simplicity. Are they essentially the same tractor or are/were they made just a bit different (engines, features)?
wwbragg 537 Posted October 31, 2016 Craftsman Premium (CTX) was made by Briggs & Stratton but was discontinued in 2013. Briggs, of course, is the parent company of Simplicity. Husqvarna makes most current Sears/Craftsman models. Previously MTD had the Craftsman contract. http://todaysmower.com/who-makes-sears-craftsman-tractors-and-mowers/

Chris727 2,022 Posted November 2, 2016 They do not have the free floating-roller decks and will require some parts if you want to convert them back to floating.
