Simplicity seat problem

Recommended Posts

The seat on my Prestige is separated from the metal.

Has anyone else had this problem?

What can I use to reattach it to the metal?

Hello;

I don't have a picture of your tractor, but speaking of a Sovereign, I just rebuilt the entire assembly using Allis parts and a welder. Like I say, build it right in the first place.

I tried two different glues .

neither one came close to working

finally clamped seat to backing

and caulked it together

it looks pretty good So Far

went on Amazon  new seat about $80

went on EBay. Same seat about $120

seen a used seat like mine

that was separating like mine

For $75

Deere also used a lot of those seats. They are very comfortable but the glue just doesn't seem to last past 8-10 years. Most of these seats have a plastic base.

Might construction adhesive hold it together if you glued then clamped the snot out of it?
