Generator armature Removal

I picked today a good running Kohler 16 hp on a generator ,owner stated that engine got minimal hours on it , rarely ever used , what's the best way to take that  armature off the PTO shaft ?

The armature is screwed on the shaft opposite the shaft rotation and you should be able to loosen with a piece of 2 X 4 and hammer on a pole. I don't recall then being on real tight.

Thank u BLT , this one been held in place thru a long bolt , I was able to find this info on youtube that worked great removing it .
