Woodydel 0 Posted March 7, 2002 Hi Kent, Simpletractors' discussion, for sale and want ads have been having problems all day yesterday and part of this morning all over Long Island with various ISP connections. Doesn't matter if it dial-up, cable or DSL..Either no response at all from the server or extremely slow response time into the minute or two minute range..Just a note..Woody
Kent 436 Posted March 7, 2002 Woody, I was having similar problems yesterday, but when I tried ping or tracert to check it, I found the problems to be at the gateway of our LAN, not the site. The transmission would time out at the gateway... If you have more problems, try running the trace route at the site below, tracing first back to your system (it'll automatically do that when in launches) then tracing to simple tractors.... If it's internet traffic there's not much I can do -- if it's on the server, I can have Tech Support check it out. But, the first thing they do is run a trace route from lots of different locations to see the resulte.... Woodydel 0 Posted March 8, 2002 Kent, I believe its a DNS problem. A screwed up database..Too many locations are being affected and too many systems..Is Stanford's Trace Route server down now?...Woody

Woodydel 0 Posted March 8, 2002 Kent, One thing about testing, when it works everything will look fine but when it's not mostly you'll get nothing. I can test some machines till I'm blue in the face to find that once in a while problem then walk out and the problem will start. I was just letting you know in case others said anything to you..Woody
