Well I was tilling with my 3212v (the one in the gallery) And got done and was heading back to the shed when it guit moving and a loud high pitched soud started. I have already replaced one gear in the beval gear box and really dont want to do it again so how hard is it to convert it to hydro. Or is something more simpler than the gear.
ANY CHEAP HELP WOULD NICE

You still need the bevel gear box with a hydro. What was the problem when you replaced the one gear. We never replace one gear unless it would be for some unusual cause in a prety new tractor. Once they have quite a few hours on them they wear into each other. If the one gear gets worn so thin that it strips, the mate is worn to match it and normally if you just replace the stripped gear, the wear on the old gear creates pressure points on the new gear and wears it prematurly. Are your shafts good? If you can feel ANY wear on them where the needle bearings run they should be replaced. Most of the time we see these gear boxes bad, they have a ton of hours on them and the bearings are worn and often the shafts are also. If you don't fix all of the problem, it usually comes back to haunt you, and often the new parts you put in have to be replaced again. Just look everything over very closely. It seems in our shop everytime we look at something and say: "Well maybe that will get by OK, I hate to put it in because it is a pretty expensive part". We end up doing the job over because it didn't "Get BY", then we end up eating the labor for doing it over. If it is bad enough to question using it, you better replace it in the beginning instead of having to do it over, because it will bite you. I've been there many times. Good luck, do what you think best. These are just my thoughts, and they are free, so that may establish their value. Al
