Kohler20HP Oil Pressure

Recommended Posts

kfrick
My Kohler 20HP Magnum is lighting the Oil Pressure lamp. It started flickering at low RPM a while back, but we have had so little rain/snow/reason-to-start-the-tractor, that I just let it slide. After a while, the OP Lamp became a steady glow. So, I drained the oil, changed the filter, added new SAE30, and started 'er up.....same indication. The oil level is fine. The ET meter indicates ~875 hours. I have no reason to suspect that the engine was ever torn down. What to do next??[A href='http://home.ceinetworks.com/~kfrick']http://home.ceinetworks.com/~kfrick[/a]

MPH
First thing I would do would be take the sending unit out and replace it with a temporay oil gauage to see if you have oil pressure. If you have, try a new sending unit..MPH

Hi Karl, I think MPH is correct. Sending units can cause alot of problems. If you notice any oil leakage around the sending unit, do as MPH described. Even if is not leaking, internal problems could be there.

It is on the right hand side of the engine towards the front under the air cleaner. Good Luck! Mike S.
