Guest Posted March 8, 2002 Has anyone ever adapted a newer style aftermarket loader to one of the large frame AC's? There is an auction house nearby with a brand new Bush Hog 1846QT ( 48" bucket )loader on a pallet. I don't know what it would take or if it would be cost effective to adapt it. I do not have the under carriage or pump either. Any ideas out there, assuming it can be bought reasonably?
powermax_paul 1 Posted March 8, 2002 Dan, The hydraulic pump setup is relatively inexpensive. I had to make up my own pump and mount when I got my Danco loader. That same pump is now operating my backhoe as well. The pump cost me about $65 from Northern, and I can help you size one for that loader's cylinders once you get it (if you do). Everything else hydraulic is just hoses and fittings and a few pieces of angle iron to mount the pump. I think the biggest challenge for you is to figure out how to mount it to the 620. You'll have to come up with a bracket that will attach to the four mounting holes on the side of the frame (either side of the engine). It also should attach to the rear of the tractor around the area where the 3pt hitch arms mount. If you think the above is do-able from your point of view "go for it". Guest Posted March 9, 2002 Thanks Paul. That's encouraging to hear that the pump cost and mounting isn't too bad. Depending on how much the loader goes for, I may pursue it. That brand new loader is pretty inviting sitting there with no good home. I pulled up the spec. page on the Bush Hog web site, looks to have a lot of power. When the weather clears here, I'll go measure things up and see how much adapting it may need. Thanks for the tips. Dan
MPH 12 Posted March 9, 2002 Picked up some lit on those a couple years ago dreaming of one on my B-112 as they call it the 12 to 25 hp range tractors. In Palmer Ak they wanted 22 or 24 hundred bucks for one. Look to nice units, hope you get a bargin. MPH
