I have done the same swap.  I think the square chute works better.  It keeps the snow in a better "stream" as it comes out.

I will find out tue day calling for 13" and it keeps going up

Mid Atlantic area is supposed to get hit with a nor'easter with cold air in place.  So potential for lots of snow. 

I prefer my "big ones" in the winter months where they belong. 

For the next 4-5 days it's going to be as cold as it's been all winter.  Flowers and trees that budded/opened in the last few weeks are going to take a beating.

PS - Tappan is just north of NYC on the Hudson.
