really like the A/C 300 & 400 series tractors

Due to the Federal government's antitrust lawsuit, the attachments are intentionally not directly interchangeable.  The head of a Simplicity snowthrower could likely be used, but the correct Allis hitch and mule drive is absolutely required.

Exactly what Kent said.  Snowblower heads are easy to find, but the AC300/400 hitches are very hard to find, much like the AC built Homelite hitches.

I have a 416H that I really enjoyed until the engine went.  Got a spare engine in place and used it for a bit then just stopped running and I have not yet figured out why.  I think the timing is off.

Anyway, it is a nice tractor, solidly built.  I used a plow from one of my Landlords on it which mounts and works fine except that the older Landlord plow frame lift arm angles towards the tractor and comes into contact with the frame of the tractor before it gets more than a couple inches off the ground.  Newer frames have the lift arm coming straight up but I did not have one so I cut the welds off mine, set it up like the newer frames and welded it back.  Works fine now.

I would like to use the tractor for mowing as well but it appears to use a right hand discharge deck that I have not been able to find.
I can mount correct blades for that rotation but the grass will not feed out the left properly.  I may have to weld closed the left side discharge and make one on the right if I ever get the tractor going again.

She is one***of a plow tractor though.

I have a 416H.  Its been parked for a couple years since the fuel tank started leaking. Was a good and stout machine. I didn't really care for driving it compared to the Sovereign series. The control positions just seemed more awkward. Its a later model so Simplicity rear attachments fit such as the tiller, plow, etc. Took a long time to find a good deck for it and even longer to find a correct muffler. The drivetrain is made of Simplicity parts so those are easy enough to find new and used.

Chris is that the deck I remember from my Allis 410/416 (Loader Tractor)?

It would probably be like the one you had. Mine came off a Homelite T-16 in mid-mo.

Hello glad I got on this site. I hope to upload a couple of photos of my Simplicity Broadmoor
Model 707 Tractor. I have replaced all the belts on it and installed a new ignition switch.
Have a mower deck which was in poor shape , repaced a couple of bushings and welded the
deck where there was some holes. The tractor and mower deck came from a friend and the
mower deck metal was getting pretty thin. Some new metal was put in it and we also undercoated the underside of the deck. This was done by my friend Greg Toulman.
I have not put the mower deck on the tractor yet, waiting for Greg to come home and give me a hand. Can you please tell me if there is a manual for the mower deck and where I could get one.
I would also like to get some moon wheel discs as well.
I will try and down load some photos of the tractor when my wife shows me how to.
I really love driving this tractor and also how well it is made compare today's tractors, especially the flexible rear end and the rollers.
      Tell the next time
