Has anyone had parts rechromed instead of replacing. There is a shop in the twin cities that does this.

I OWN AN AUTOMOTIVE MACHINE SHOP HERE IN ARIZONA AND I CONSTANTLY HAVE ITEMS CROMED WHERE A SHAFT OR OTHER PART HAD WEAR. IF DONE PROPERLY THE CROMED SECTION WILL OUT LAST THE PART THAT WAS ORIGINALLY CAUSING THE WEAR. IF YOU HAVE ANY SPECIFIC ITEMS YOU WERE THINKING ABOUT HAVING CROMED I WILL GIVE YOU MY 2 CENTS WORTH ON THE ITEM. MATT

Just be aware there are two types of chroming: the asthetic or trim type, and industrial hard chroming. The regular chrome plating is think and very shiny, mainly for looks. Hard chrome plating is much thicker, rough in appearance, and make to coat parts subject to very high wear such as the concave in a combine.[A href='http://www.wheatfarm.com']http://www.wheatfarm.com[/a]

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
