Bunky
Hello all Well in an earlier post I had problems with my 717 Hi-Lo unit and the Shift pivots Part #156261 were gone and wore out. well there was a discussion in my post about them being aluminum and something about an insert The ones I purchased and the one I removed were made out of a plastic type material and no insert was listed. my question is did they used to be aluminum and have an insert or is there another model HI-LO unit????? SmilinSam
The ones in the New old stock unit I have are made out of plastic too. I suppose the dealer that sold it to me could have replaced lost originals?? The pulley is dirty but not been used. Don't know. The ones on a B-10 I had were a metal housing with soft metal inserts like you describe though.
Kent
It sounds like the high/lows for the Broadmoors and the Landlords were not exactly the same... it sounds like they used slightly different pivots for them, in addition to different shift linkage (obviously), and different shaft sizes for the pulley... The pivots for my Big Ten, original and replacement, looked like some type of hardened silvery (hardened aluminum??) alloy, with hard rubber inserts that had a slot in them for the flange on the pulley. See the picture below. I think they used the metal for strength and the rubber to dampen any rattles... I don't have any first-hand experience with those for the Broadmoor....
