A/C 716H Axle Tube

Hi, I snapped mine (712H) 11 years ago, cost about $150 for parts then, rebuilt it myself, found the information at the Library in a small tractor manual. As I recall, the axle snapped in a snap ring groove, Quick direction change on a hill was cause. Towed the tractor around to the back of my house with my wife steering the tractor, still remember her surprised look as she was passing my truck at the end of the chain downhill, NO BRAKES! Does anyone know how hard it is to replace that axle tube on a 716H? Mine snapped last summer and I dont want to trash the thing.
