Anyone seen the info on the new JD 400 and 500 series? Bet this will be some expensive green paint....[A href='http://customer.deere.com/golfandturfprofessionals/xseries/tractor_gallery.html'][img src='http://customer.deere.com/golfandturfprofessionals/images/xseries/x485_79604_g.jpg'][/a]

Somewhere else I saw that John Deere has a 12 volt electrical outlet on one of there new models. This would be handy for hedge trimmers etc.How about adding one on a B 110?

What would really be handy is an inverter and a 110VAC outlet. You could take your tractor out with you when you go hunting and plug in a toaster oven or miracle-wave. Have your Deere and eat it too? Paul

Vinnie, Don't see why that wouldn't work. I've been thinking of doing the same thing. Lately, I've been using one of those 12v jump start packs and one of those chintzy 12v compressors to pump up flat tires on a bunch of old equipment I'm moving around. I'm really amazed. I can hook it up to a 10.00x20 truck tire, go do something else, come back 1/2 hour later, and I'm ready to go. Sure beats making 4 or 5 trips with a portable air tank, or getting a vehicle with an air compressor.

All right, If anyone can find a new john deere that can provide a better finish mow than my 1960 something 717 I will challenge you. Johnne Deeerest sold its roots out long ago. The 111 were made by gilson. The Sabres, Junk! I had a guy who is was an instructor at a local community college tell me how great the jd parts system was because he could get parts in a couple of days. Being a dealer for almost 50 years, I laughed at this. We have parts to fix most everything from a simplicity rider. We also take care of our customers so they can flat out embarrass the poor fool who is riding a green machine. Neal Pierce

4 wheel steering isn't new. MTD had it about 10 years ago for a while. Lousy reliabillity, no surprise, and way too expensive for the relative size of the mower. Also saw it on a Honda rider back when they tried the market. You can cut off every sprinkler head in the yard getting used to it too!

Actually, JD has had a four-wheel steer tractor in their line up for quite some time. You can find it on some of their previous 400 series models. Now, personaly...I still prefer orange, even without the back wheels steering. SimpleMan

MPH, I think the axle is bent. Really! No actually, they must have come up with 4wheel steering. What else would you expect from a company that strives to add VALUE$$ to their machines? Consumers seem to soak it up. That's Capitalism! Right? Paul Paul

I think it was actually Princess Leia (sp?) who said that, when she first boarded the Millenium Falcon belonging to Hans Solo...
