powermax_paul 1 Posted March 17, 2002 Jack, I pull a 10" Brinley plow with my Powermax and at just a little more than an Idle engine speed. I don't think you'll have any problems. I wish I had a 2-bottom plow so I can get the job done faster. Paul
AGCO918 0 Posted March 17, 2002 JACK: i cant remember forsure but i think you need at least 10 to 12 hp to pull a 1 bt 10" plow. you should have no problem if it is weighted down.would like to see a picture of your tractor and plow if you would please send me a picture of it.I have never seen a plow hooked to a allis chalmers lawn tractor i dont believe. would like to see the o point hitch for one and the brackets to see how hard it would be to make one for my agco918. agco918 chad e shafer
Roy 0 Posted March 17, 2002 Jack, I have plowed E. Tennessee red clay with a B-1 (7.25 hp). 12 hp should be a "cakewalk" so to speak. Roy
AGCO918 0 Posted March 17, 2002 ROY: YOU are right on that.10 to 12 on a farm tractor so i would think no problem as i said .agco918

jackcobb 11 Posted March 17, 2002 I know soil type means alot. And how deep you go means alot too. I just purchased a 10" Brinley Plow, and will be attempting to pull it with a B-212 (vari-speed). Tires are AG style, and are loaded. Front and rear. Will be plowing some old sod. At 5 or 6 inches deep, do you thing 12HP is enough?
Dutch 4 Posted March 17, 2002 Jack, After Kent and some members taught me how to set up a plow, and shared some tips & tricks, my 7010-6 pulled it fine with turf tires. Marion_Kerr 0 Posted March 19, 2002 These type plows were on the original walk-behind Simplicity garden tractors way back in the early 50's (yes I'm showing my age). My cousin still has the old tractor and attachments yet. I played with it as a kid in fact. Cant' say as a fact if they were 8" or 10" but I think those tractors only had about 5 to 8 hp..
