Kohler Engine Parts Sources

Does everyone have a "favorite" source to get Kohler new engine parts as far as prices, delivery etc?? Is it acceptable to use non-Kohler parts for say, pistons or is it just asking for trouble?? Thanks

I have been using Jacks Small Engines who are sponsors of this site. I haven't really compared prices, but they seem fair. If you get a Kohler parts book and have the numbers, ordering from them on the web is really slick. They have always had everything I've ordered in stock. Jeff Snyder PS, they also often have an aftermarket or non Kohler part to offer for a lesser price listed along with the Kohler part so you can compare.

Pistons and rods in the aftermarket are asking for trouble in my opinion and from what I have seen.

I have used Eden's LTD. Al Eden is an ongoing contributor to this site. Fast delivery and fair pricing have been appreciated. Additionally the the "how to" assistance I've received has made the engine repairs I've done less daunting.
