Voltage regulator

Parts is parts.  Any 12 volt unit should work.  A conversion wiring diagram is available online or elsewhere in this forum.

I think the original regulators are current limited to a lower amount of amps than cars need.  Seem to remember that an automotive regulator would allow the Starter generators coils to overheat and fry in high demand times.

 

There was a few good articles about this in the Tech section, not sure if they made the transition.
