I can't tighten my blade bolt enough.

I have a Homelite t-8 deck that I just replaced the blades on. (3x) One of the blades bolt I can tighten as far as I can, but it will come loose when mowing.   Not off.. just spin.

The blades are attached with a LH Threaded bolt, washer, and round insert.  The new blade looks identical in width to the old.  And I even tried adding a thicker washer.  The only other thing I could try is, the blade and mount have 4 holes, perhaps I can put a pin in it to at least cut down on the spin.

Any ideas?

On some the washer that goes up against the blade is cupped...be sure blade is seated and washer is set cupped side toward blade.

Some decks have small locating bumps or a low pin on the arbor blade brackets themselves. These are made to line up in the holes on the blades and kind of help to keep the blade set in position. At times the small raised portions are worn down and won't catch the locating holes on the blades if the blade was allowed to spin freely for any amount of time.  Other decks use an arbor that has a splined bushing that locks into the blade mounting  washers and or blades that are supposed to keep the blade from spinning free from the arbor shaft..

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
