Have any of you replaced/repaired the seat support for a Powrmax, 4041 etc.?  Ideas?

I will try to load some pictures tomorrow.  I have not performed this on a Powermax but I have done this on two sovereign platform tractors.

I bought the seat @ Farm & Fleet.  Then took a piece of Aluminum 1/8" or so that was big enough to cover the holes in the bottom of the seat & the slots in the hinged seat support that is bolted to the seat pan.  I added bolt spacers from Ace Hardware to allow the bolt head clearance between the aluminum plate & the bottom of the seat.  I did not want to drill another set of holes in the seat pan & I did not want to buy a new Simplicity seat.  It sounds confusing but hopefully the pictures will give you a better idea.

Here are some pictures of the seat and mounting bracket from my 9020.  The seat back is at the top of the pictures.  You could buy a universal seat for $50 plus shipping.  (see http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Tractor-Seat-Padded-Steel-Pan-Seat-for-Tractors-Fits-Many-Models-/292098233740?hash=item440269558c:g:cYsAAOSwGvhT9q7Z) and bolt it to your mounting bracket.  It looks great on my 707.  The mounting holes on the your seat bottom are rusted away but If you want to stay original, you could cut out the rust and tack-weld a piece of 18 or 20 gauge steel to the seat bottom.  Then tack-weld a 3/8 or 1/2 inch nut to the center and use the existing mounting plate (if yours looks like mine).

Then you'd have to reupholster the seat.  From the presence of the rivets I'd say it has been recovered before.  I just paid $100 to have a seat reupholstered for my 7119. It also looks great, but it was $100.  Unless you want to stay strictly original, I'd recommend the universal seat.

Hello glad I got on this site. I hope to upload a couple of photos of my Simplicity Broadmoor
Model 707 Tractor. I have replaced all the belts on it and installed a new ignition switch.
Have a mower deck which was in poor shape , repaced a couple of bushings and welded the
deck where there was some holes. The tractor and mower deck came from a friend and the
mower deck metal was getting pretty thin. Some new metal was put in it and we also undercoated the underside of the deck. This was done by my friend Greg Toulman.
I have not put the mower deck on the tractor yet, waiting for Greg to come home and give me a hand. Can you please tell me if there is a manual for the mower deck and where I could get one.
I would also like to get some moon wheel discs as well.
I will try and down load some photos of the tractor when my wife shows me how to.
I really love driving this tractor and also how well it is made compare today's tractors, especially the flexible rear end and the rollers.
      Tell the next time
