turbo grass collector repair

Guys, I have a turbo bag collector on my 6216 36 inch mowing deck.  Since it is now very old and the upper and lower plastic housings are no longer available I have done my best to fabricate sheet metal repairs where holes have developed in the top housing.  I have pop riveted the sheet metal to the plastic housing but they don't stay in long and screws would interfere with the metal turbo blade.  Any other ideas on how to repair the housing?  FYI, I have also put a request in the wanted classifieds on this site to find another one with no response in the past  The worst area is a big hole near the exhaust leg leading to the bagger unit.

Any help would be much appreciated as having leaves and grass shooting out at me is not fun.

Thanks Dave

I would follow the first rule of engineering after-thought:  If it doesn't move, but it should, apply WD-40.  If it moves but it shouldn't, apply duct tape.

I'm just sayin' - - -

No, really, all seriousness aside, is there a way you can use the old plastic parts as a mold and fabricate a new one out of fiberglass?????????

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
