Power steering for snowblowing or Johnny bucket?

8 posts in this topic

What would you rather do...both on a sovereign tractor platform.

have power steering for your 42" snowblower in a Wisconsin winter or have it on your dedicated Johnny bucket tractor?

I am am leaning towards my snowblowing tractor but figured I would call a meeting of the minds before setting forth.sm03

Snow-blower.

What I have found is with PS on one of my tractors is that it is not as responsive as the original "Rack & Pinion" style.  I have had a few near misses until I reduced my mowing speed & it is still not as precise as I would have hoped.  I still have an NOS kit that I don't if I will ever use.

I performed this to my 917 in 2007 & it is the best thing I have ever done & cant begin to tell you how much of a difference it made.  Written by PeppyDan in 2007.

My snowblower tractor has power steering. I find it very nice when blowing snow. I can spin it around in the middle of driveways with no effort.

Generally I find the steering to work fairly easily on the slick hard surfaces when blowing.  A loaded Johhny bucket on terrain and the need to manuver while operating the lift, etc would seem to me to be much easier with power steering.  If it were me, Johhny Bucket tractor.  Just my .02 worth.
