B-112 Pulley

Recommended Posts

Have An AC B112. The tractor has a front pulley for a snow blower attachment. I tried to remove the front pulley with a gear puller, after removing the set screw. The gear puller bent the pulley and but did not remove it. (it didn't even budge) 2 questions......1. How does one remove that pulley? 2. Anyone know where I could get a replacement pulley.

Thanks

Matt

Sounds like it is rusted on pretty good Matt. If you could have heated the pulley hub up before you might have been able to save it. Another alternative is to soak it with a penetrating oil such as WD-40, CRC, or (my favorite for really stuck parts) Kano SiliKroil. Now that you don't have to worry about saving the pulley you can cut the hub parallel to the crankshaft with a hacksaw. If one cut doesn't work make another on the opposite side. Matt, another trick is to put tension on the pulley or whatever you are removing and tap the pulley with a hammer. Do not beat on it, just tap it. The vibrations will many times break the rust loose. Good Luck!
