Rebuild kit? Parts? Briggs 19

Recommended Posts

Can you still get parts to overhaul the Briggs 19? And if so where? Mine is type # 706035. It's in a model 700 wonderboy. I've tried doing some searching and can't come up with much of anything. Just thought about throwing a new rod/piston/ rings/ gaskets in it. Thanks!

i  started looking for parts for my model 19 several years ago. kept running into NLA.. no kits and not many of the parts individually.  by blind luck, a barn haul i made had some NOS stuff so i got mine rebuilt. regretably, there were only enough useable parts for one motor. i try to keep a list of parts numbers in my wallet in case i run across a vendor at a show with a box of stray briggs parts.

i have run across a vendor at the Florida Flywheeler show. several times i have picked up parts from him. i have not ordered anything from him. he is well organized in what he has with him, not searching thru boxes of stuff.   give him a try.

the chap's name is Bill Johnson. his e mail is; wildnash@att.net

A mechanic at the a local mower shop told me that IF he could get the parts, it would cost over $1000 to rebuild a model 19.  A Harbor Freight 13 HP Predator motor costs $350 ($300 if you watch for a sale).  I put one in my 725 and am about to put one in a 3112 and 3310.  A pretty easy conversion.

STD or .020 Pistons/ rings should still be available. They are the same as on the 23D. The rod might be NLA but I don't have the # handy right now. Buying NOS on eBay, would be fairly inexpensive. Machine work is cheap where I'm located but prices vary greatly from shop to shop and by region. If the crank is beyond its limits you may have to have it welded back up.

I got this list from B&S directly    I had JMT Ent. in Maryland rebuild a carburetor for me....he did a fabulous job fast and at half the price it would have cost me for the rebuild kit...I don't know if any of the others on here are as good or as reliable as that guy was ...but at least this  a source for a lot of old engine parts

Hello glad I got on this site. I hope to upload a couple of photos of my Simplicity Broadmoor
Model 707 Tractor. I have replaced all the belts on it and installed a new ignition switch.
Have a mower deck which was in poor shape , repaced a couple of bushings and welded the
deck where there was some holes. The tractor and mower deck came from a friend and the
mower deck metal was getting pretty thin. Some new metal was put in it and we also undercoated the underside of the deck. This was done by my friend Greg Toulman.
I have not put the mower deck on the tractor yet, waiting for Greg to come home and give me a hand. Can you please tell me if there is a manual for the mower deck and where I could get one.
I would also like to get some moon wheel discs as well.
I will try and down load some photos of the tractor when my wife shows me how to.
I really love driving this tractor and also how well it is made compare today's tractors, especially the flexible rear end and the rollers.
      Tell the next time
      Paul
