4041 axle

I am looking for an axle for a 4041. There is a whole drop assembly on eBay, axle, bull bearing, etc for 134.00 plus shipping. Is this a resoanable price?

Anyone have a list of Napa part numbers for the axle bearing/cone/cup and oil seals?  Roller bearing? I have the original parts numbers but don’t know how or where to find a cross reference chart for modern parts.

Thank you.

Hey John,

I paid 115 for the whole rear axle assembly for mine so I dont think $134 is an unreasonable price. Everything I had was in very good condition so all I really had to do was swap out the axle assembly and change the oil.  And please tell me the axle that broke isn't the one I sent you. I'd feel terrible.

No. That one was in great condition. Last summer I broke two, two weeks apart. I bought yours and installed it but I am still down one. The tractor I need the axle for is the plow tractor. Now that we have snow on the ground (7 in) finding the other axle and getting her up and running has become a “priority”. The loader tractor is rather worthless for plowing.

On a side note: I noticed an oil leak around the oil filter. The filter is tight. I don’t think it is the filter. What else is in that area that could be bleeding. Head gasket?

Need to check mount for the oil filter, could be a head gasket but I'ld rather think it's your mount

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
