All White Early B-10 "Promotional" Tractor *Updates Added*

I've got myself a possible piece of Allis Chalmers history.

Got it from a lady whos grandfather worked at Allis for nearly 60 years, mostly in advertising and promotional.

This early B10 was stripped bare, painted white and taken state to state for people to try head to head with other brands also painted white. They were all white with no logos/badges so there was no color/brand bias. He liked the tractor so much, He bought it after the promotion travels were over. When he bought it he asked for B10 decals, what they gave him were the Big Ten decals which were in production at the time.  The lady and her father both remember the old man stating that he's rather it be all white since he hated the yellow color (Since the farm tractors were orange).  He used it mostly for mowing and in the early 2000's the tractor was left outside the garage (which was packed full of allis chalmers stuff) and that night the garage caught on fire and burned to the ground.

It's rusty and stained, worn out, but it's ALL white. Some replacement parts and the deck are yellow or orange but overall it seems like the story holds water. She is looking for documentation or photos of it as the full promotional/demonstration machine. If such is the case, it will be restored to that condition. The gentleman passed away 7 years ago at 93 years of age.

I'll be cleaning the rust spots and staining, installing proper tires, a better seat and repro-nelson.  Otherwise it will stay just as it is.

Mark, that's a gold mine. Maybe not in $ but the tractor's story is priceless! May be someone out there in the AC collector world who can verify and possibly add some info. We've seen the phantom Simplicity used in JD sprayer ads b/f the 110 was produced so unicorns do still exist.

The lady and her father are searching through family photo albums and such trying to find pictures of it.  They swear they have a picture of the truck and trailer with the machines in his driveway.

About a month ago I dropped off the White B10 and my B1 by Kristin and Richard for some cleanup work.  She was dying to have at that tractor after she figured out it was me who owned it.

Picked it up yesterday!

The pictures below are from 1968, The owner Lynn Laughery.

Hello glad I got on this site. I hope to upload a couple of photos of my Simplicity Broadmoor
Model 707 Tractor. I have replaced all the belts on it and installed a new ignition switch.
Have a mower deck which was in poor shape , repaced a couple of bushings and welded the
deck where there was some holes. The tractor and mower deck came from a friend and the
mower deck metal was getting pretty thin. Some new metal was put in it and we also undercoated the underside of the deck. This was done by my friend Greg Toulman.
I have not put the mower deck on the tractor yet, waiting for Greg to come home and give me a hand. Can you please tell me if there is a manual for the mower deck and where I could get one.
I would also like to get some moon wheel discs as well.
I will try and down load some photos of the tractor when my wife shows me how to.
I really love driving this tractor and also how well it is made compare today's tractors, especially the flexible rear end and the rollers.
      Tell the next time
      Paul
