thrust washers

Recommended Posts

I saw a great video on adding thrust washers and roller bearings that Zippo Zarga put together . He even showed a packing list with part numbers but I have tried to track down the numbers to no avail . I wish I knew where he got them . When I use the Simplicity part numbers they show NLA . Any ideas ?

Thanks

Where are the bearings being placed?

Guessing on spindle for easier steering?

If it is I got mine from McMaster Carr.

Bedded the bottom washer in JB Weld, used a split collar on the spindle to hold it perpendicular until it cured.

Here's one of the early posts (from Tech Tips Forum) about the thrust washer install on the front spindles:

There are other posts.  This mod is usually called "Poor Man's Power Steering".

I guess the pics didn't survive the move to the new site.

Thank you for the post to the old site, I will take a look.

Thank you also for your greeting, my last 6 months have been a waste, but feel like I’m firing again!

Kind regards
