So

I don't get it....is there a way to recoup some of the coin you put into these awesome tractors. ..or is it like all of the rest of MY  hobbies were you dump a bunch of money into it only to sell it later at a loss with all of your labor being pretty much free? :(

Pretty much but so far about the same with Allis tractors, have a couple I might scrap cause no one wants to pay anything for them and I won't sell to someone as scrap

It's been a love of competition for last 40+ years, the rush I get when I push throttle wide open.

If anyone's in it for money , sorry wrong hobbie

Just a little note : if yoiur ever planning on reworking hub and drums for a trailer, they are hard as xxxx

Had in lathe and didn't hardly score them anyone have a way to take hardness out of them ?

I started cutting off the hub but burnt my Bosch grinder up and had to go get a new one, these will be the answer to my brake problems if I can get them where I can machine them.

I've only got $26.50 in this one so if I can't get it to machine I'm not out a lot, They normally sell for $67.03 ea.

A few more pieces added, moved steering rack up in frame so to protect it added added foot rests.

Just got my brake disc back from machine shop so I'll get brake mounted today, friend does fantastic machine work.

And a side view, pardon the mess as I have several other projects going to

Guys gotta have a hobby....Wish I was that talented! 9_9

Everyone has their one thing this just happens to be mine, I thank my granddad for the talent and ability to do the things I do, better not forget my dad because without his push and talents, support of my pulling over all these years I may not be the person I am today.

  • 2 weeks later...

A few more pictures, things happening slowly now just lot of small almost unnoticeable at times

Brake pedals needing more work, Driveshaft tube 6 in. OD by 24 long 3/8 wall, being reworked to cover and protect family jewels

Chevy Densco alternator, same as I used to charge my 620 Allis normally we don't run alt but with small Braille battery 813 CCA felt I need to keep charged, battery is 4x6 and so far has stated it everytime ( I'm amazed at it's power)

Everything is ruff wired as it all has to come apart to be painted, depends on whether it ever warms up, will probably paint it outside as to the amount of waste paint when doing a tube chassis.

They've changed the play day to April 29th, cut off almost a month that I had thought I had to get it done. less than a week to finish.

I still haveside plates for engine and  fenders if I can find someone willing to roll them, they'll be .100 Aluminum so if someone sits there butt on them they shouldn't move or bend

Hopefully we'll have pictures from it's maiden run.

Got fenders mounted, still a couple of items need done.

Anyone wanting to see it run will be at Wauseon Oh. fair grounds Sunday April 29th at 1:00 pm.

My plan is to make as many runs as possible to sort out issues.

He-he,  don't be surprised if I do that some day.

Was always going to do that with one of my larger mini's but never did, would get a lot of attention at shows.

Speaking of shows I am amazed at time some put forth to show tractors, takes a large amount of time just to get them there and back, my hats off to the many that do

Added a couple more weight bars , weighed it at mill and we're 1460 lb. with me in seat, class is 1400 lb

Most of those tractors don't weigh 1400lbs!

Mark this class started out less than 1000 lb but along comes someone who can't make weight and up it goes, was 1250 for years and then 1300,1350 and now 1400 lb

I could make 1100 lb with ease.

I sure hope that’s said in jest. I’ve had plenty of that no one wanted to buy and I end up giving that stuff away for free if I think someone will put it to use. The only stuff that goes to scrap around here are the things that no one wants for free… Which hasn’t been much over the last decade or so.   Takes about that long just to accumulate enough worth the drive did scrap yard.

I’d rather see some local kid use a busted up plow or tractor frame for a welding project then send it on the boat to China for a few pennies. sm02
