Simplicity sunstar dual hydros

A power angle plow was on my list of things to do. I had picked up a 60 inch power angle blade from a legacy dirt cheap. So I decided to put it on my Sunstar. As far as fitment it went right on with no modifications at all. First task was to build a lift rod. Luckily a friend of mine let me borrow his to copy. Next step was to find a valve for the power angle. I picked up a powermax dual spool valve from Phil and mounted it up. The Sunstar actually has the holes to mount the dual spool valve. So I had to swap over a few fittings and extend the return hose. Then I had to mount an aux handle. The two handles are the same so I picked up another handle took the assembly off and put both handles on the assembly and reinstalled the assembly. Now to connect the valve to the handle. I made a connecting link and finished up the valve install. So the legacy blade had hoses on it already for the power angle. I had a buddy make me up some stub hoses so I could connect the existing hoses from the plow to my valve.  Didn't take a pic but the quick disconnects came out just enough out of the side cover to easily get to them. Here are some pictures of the whole setup.FB_IMG_1520556812909.thumb.jpg.cfcf55c01829885b1770aef17fee0aec.jpgFB_IMG_1520556797704.jpg.7727a0155e73e42cf7847344882b0e55.jpgIMG_20171112_133053856.thumb.jpg.7f6f836f371536af9d31b94dfff83f53.jpgIMG_20171119_151119158.thumb.jpg.a54dd19bf9bfcc0c1bbbccc12ee2fe8f.jpgIMG_20171112_133048468.thumb.jpg.3c5ea367bd6e2d8553fb010c82336c77.jpgFB_IMG_1520559242155.thumb.jpg.d32501c7e16b4ec47cc7a99b5d2e6956.jpgFB_IMG_1520559206619.jpg.ea7dd6924a9fbd5bb25ab8941ff0bb20.jpgIMG_20171202_092935268.thumb.jpg.129d324c576f43df107253a1ad1c6ee2.jpgFB_IMG_1520559277193.thumb.jpg.2bf210155eefd85fee412f0bdde47419.jpg

That is a nice looking set-up!  Makes me want to start looking for a Sunstar myself, but it would be way too big for what I use a tractor for, and I can barely get my truck into the back garage now, with three running tractors and three project tractors.

Thats because in the winter you get snow.  Down here in Iowa we get snow, rain, ice, sleet, 50 mph wind, and I am just too old to sweep and scrape any more! ;)

Yea it was a great machine. Unfortunately I only got to plow snow with it once before coming across a legacy xl. So another  member on here bought the sunstar from me. Steve, just get one and dont look back. They are great machines I just didnt have room for this and xl.

The silver van was my Dad's, got it sold.  It has since been replaced by a '94 red Chevy pickup.  Swapped tires from the "old" '88 Chevy pickup. The picture is before I swapped. Used a floor jack on the blue one.

We host a motorcycle rally at our property.  It's on a gravel street. One couple came in from Canada, maintainer had left a thicker layer of gravel at the edge. He turned in, caught the wheel, and down they went.
Had a blues band playing on stage, and I think the crowd could hear her yelling at him over the band!
