According to the book "A History of Allis-Chalmers" by Norm Swinford: Late 1961 -- B-1, 1963 -- Original B-10, 1965 -- Big-10, 1966 -- B-10, B-12, 1968(Lexington SC Built) -- B-207, B-110, B-112, 1970 -- B-208, B-210, B-212, HB-212 1971 --206,207,310,312,314 1973 -- 410,414,416(Last Lexinton models) 1972 -- 616 1973 -- 620 1975 -- 720 1974 -- 608,610,710,712,716 1976 -- 808,810
1979 -- 910,912,916,917 1980 -- T811,T816 1982 -- 920 1985 -- Deutz-Allis

I would be very interested in seeing some production figures. Did AC/Simplicity lose a lot of market share going into the 1970's and 1980's?

Ok, now lets talk about Allis-Chalmers model years. My B12 is product number 990400 (Electric Start and Power Lift, if that's what the ES and PL mean) and according to the motor numbers it is a 1967. What years were the B10/B12 made. I thought I saw somewhere that the B110/B112 started in 1967. My B112 is product number 990495 and I have no idea what model year it is, I haven't checked the motor number. Does anyone know the years for the different model runs.

Ok I will try this one. The serial#'S were for engine manufactures use. The years for simplicity tractors are mostly a baseline and approx. only as some years the tractors were not changed at all except for something small and than it was given a different mfg.#So if you need parts you may need your approx. year and your mfg.# if you know it to be sure you get the write parts. Some years were and still are carry over years meaning they did'nt change anything on it untill sometime later in the year then it got a different mfg.#. If you are lucky you may find the day-month-year on your trans housing as when it was forged at a foundry. Its like Les said a certain tractor was perduced late in the year. Are you confused yet? Look at their literature for this year-nothing even said about model year. Only new products being interduced. The booklet was printed in "97" and they reserve the right to discontinue models or change specifications without notice. I hope I was able to help somewhat and please do not quote me on this as I find it very complicated and the way I understand it they have always done it this way. As far as I know the attachments are done the same way. If someone can correct me please do so as I can only be so accurate. Thanks Jackl

Hi Tim and others:

I have the manufacture dates, model numbers, conversion numbers from AC to Simplicity etc. but I don't have a scanner so I will send a copy to anyone who has a scanner and it can be put on this page. Give me an address.

By the book that I have the engine was made in 1970.
That does not mean that your tractor was made at the same time. Kohler produced engines and they might have sat a while before being installed. From the X ref page I see the 312 was made 1971 to 1973 so that narrows yours down quite a bit. Hope this helps.

  • 1 year later...
Can anyone recommend a low cost source for service and parts manual for AC B-207. The cheapest I've found is $29.95 and $39.95.
