16hp briggs govener

the springs on my 16hp briggs broke. so i installed new springs from my bulk spring box. now it wont throttle up when i pull the throttle cable. anyone else run into this? if so what springs do i use?

If you replaced the broken governor springs with non-OEM springs, IMHO they will not work.
