Deutz 916 Hydro w/ lift - Refill fluid?

Recommended Posts

New owner to this tractor. Broke hydro hose and leaked unknow amount of fluid. How do I re-fill more than a teaspoon at a time? I know there is a vent port near left rear wheel and the what I thought was a fill tube to the reservoir in the back down low. Cannot get more than a tablespoon of fluid in either. After I replacing the hose and excersizing the cylinder I checked the fill tube (?) for level and had fluid gush out once uncapped. Any suggestions?

Congrats on your new tractor Baumer - you need to lift the vent cap on the left hand axle before removing the rear pipe cap. I use a small needle nose vice grip to hold the vent open and free up my other hand - this also allows quicker filling for the trans with a funnel - you just have to find one small enough or grind one down to fit inside the fill pipe.
Proper level is one inch from the top of the pipe and they recommend using Simplicity multi-purpose hydraulic fluid. We don't need to call the EPA do we? :)
