wiscogus 15 Posted July 20, 2018 So in the near future, I am going to work on repowering my Deutz 1920 with a 20hp Command (CH640-3126). I saw PeppyDan's post from 2009 performing the same swap and saw that he had to fabricate a new mounting plate for the engine. Is this because the Command had a different bolt pattern on the bottom? Or was that because there were large holes in the old plate from the Magnum? Also, with extending the driveshaft to the hydro; does the shaft need to be extended in the middle? Or can I just space it out using longer bolts on the flange? Thanks!
CarlH 364 Posted July 20, 2018 Both different sized holes and pattern. The non-Command plate is bolted to the frame. The Command plate is welded to the frame. The better way is to lengthen the driveshaft.
