42" deck ID

I'm rebuilding a deck that the spindles look identical to the ones in Zippo's tutorial video. The ID # I got off the tag don't seem to make any sense to the reference topics. # 885 011848.  I'm afraid I may need a center shaft, if not more. Thanx, Dave

Started dissecting the center arbor, which had some play in it. I feared for the condition of the center shaft, as the 48" deck I have had the bearing freeze and trashed the shaft. This deck seems to have trashed the bearing and no movement between the shaft and inner race. dOd With bearings in hand, I may be good to go for parts.

If you don't have access to an old school arbor press, then thread a grade 8 bolt as deep into the threads as you can to where the hex head is flush with the end of the arbor & not bottomed out.  Place it in a vice so the race will overhang the top of the vice, heat that race up with a torch & pound on that bolt head.  It will either come off or the race will shatter.  Either way, before I located the arbor press I wanted, that is how I used to remove & install arbor bearings.
